One
of the first cricket clubs to officially exist in the French
provinces, Eymet Cricket Club (Club Eymetois de Cricket)
was founded in 1983 by a group of "expats" who
were seriously missing their favourite sport.
For the first season they played on coconut matting laid
on the town's football pitch, but the following year the
Mayor kindly offered use of our present ground at Eymet
- complete with stand and all necessary facilities.
The club plays an average of twenty matches per season -
South-west league games, national competitions, and against
several overseas touring sides.
This season (2008) ECC will celebrate the 25th anniversary
of its founding. Several events are planned to mark this
special occasion, culminating in a Festival
Week running from 3rd - 8th
August.
New members, both playing and social, are always welcome,
as are their families.
